easy Survival Raman salad

Another great ramen recipe that can be made on the fly with a few vegetables and it does not require water to cook.
Use any type of vegetables, but cabbage works the best, garnished with pepper, carrot, onion or canned corn.
Ingredients
  • 1/2 head of cabbage, shredded
  • 3┬álarge carrots, shredded
  • 4-5 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 red or green bell pepper (optional)
  • 2 packages of chicken flavored ramen noodles or bullion cubes.
  • 2 cup cooked and shredded chicken (optional)
  • 1/2 cup slivered almond

 

 

 

For the Dressing
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 6 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2┬áchicken flavored ramen seasoning packages
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl mix together cabbage, carrots, onion, chicken, and almonds. Remove the seasoning packets from the ramen noodle packages and set aside for use in the dressing.
  2. Place noodles in a large ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
  3. Add the noodles to the bowl with the cabbage.
  4. Mix dressing ingredients together. Pour desired amount of dressing over salad and toss to combine. Serve immediately.
